Allianz Arena, Munich
For more than 15 months, several BKL tower cranes worked for Alpine Deutschland GmbH on the shell of Munich’s soccer temple and the adjacent esplanade. Many trades were working in parallel on this major construction site – the cranes were operating 24 hours a day. This required particularly precise assembly planning and seamless crane service with emergency service. We provided both for the large-scale mobile crane and tower crane project.

BMW World, Munich
During the shell and steel construction phase, BKL provided three Liebherr cranes over a period of 12 months for the customers Wiemer & Trachte and Maurer & Söhne. The challenge: The excavation pit was 13 meters deep and the available space was limited. Several construction cranes had to be mounted on steel scaffolding that protruded over the edge of the shoring. The base of these cranes stood freely above the excavation pit – a challenging solution that required precise planning and experience.

Botanical Garden, Berlin
The BKL North/East site provided a Potain MDT 178 crane for the customer Seka AG for the renovation work on the striking greenhouse at the Botanical Gardens in Berlin over a period of 18 months. The space available on this construction site was also very limited. Assembly was carried out using a 300-tonne mobile crane 50 meters away. Millimeter work in the tightest of spaces.

European Central Bank, Frankfurt.
The BKL Mitte/West site supported the new ECB building with a total of eight cranes over several construction phases. Various versions of the Liebherr Litronic crane were used. The largest of the eight BKL cranes, a Liebherr 630 EC-H 40 Litronic and a 550 EC-H 40 Litronic, reached a maximum hook height of 202 and 217 meters respectively after being climbed several times. The special feature: The upper cranes of these two large machines were dismantled during construction at the customer’s request and replaced with two 540 HC-L 16/32 Litronic upper cranes specially produced for this project. A large-scale tower crane project with flexibility and precision at the highest level.

Tresfjord, Norway.
Another impressive BKL reference: PORR subsidiary PNC Norge AS relied on BKL Services and two BKL rental cranes to build the bridge, which is over 1.2 kilometers long. In addition to dismantling a Liebherr EC-H, BKL provided two cranes for the construction of the connection to the shore and moved them several times during the course of construction.

Terminal 3, Frankfurt Airport.
BKL contributed twelve tower cranes and several hundred mobile cranes to the construction of the new Terminal 3 at Fraport. The tower cranes, ranging from 14 to 1,050 meter tons, worked on the large construction site of the new terminal building.

For the construction of the passenger transport system to connect Terminal 3 Frankfurt, mobile crane experts from BKL carried out numerous lifts with mobile cranes from 50 to 700 tons. By October 2021 alone, BKL’s crane specialists had carried out over 150 mobile crane jobs for the large-scale mobile crane project. At the time, the construction of the T3 was one of the largest privately financed infrastructure projects in Europe.

Siemens Campus, Erlangen
Another crane job in Germany: BKL provided three large cranes for the construction of three office buildings and a parking garage for Module 8 of the new Siemens Campus for its customer Goldbeck Südwest. The crane solution with two 400-metre-tonne construction cranes and one 750-metre-tonne construction crane covered the entire construction site. In addition to the planning and rental, the BKL team also carried out the crane assembly for this major construction crane project using its own trucks and mobile cranes.
